Radish
A member of the pepper family, radishes have been eaten for thousands of years.
Selection
Choose radishes with green, fresh-looking tops. Also look for smooth firm skin without signs of cracks, browning or wrinkles.
Storage
Keep refrigerated in a loosely-sealed plastic bag for up to one week.
Preparation
Wash and trim as desired.
Recipes
- Slice 4 radishes into 1/8” slices, mix 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 2T fresh dill or 3t dried dill.
- Spread cream cheese mixture generously onto slices of fresh bread, layer with radish slices and smoked
salmon, top with another slice of bread spread with cream cheese.
